You may
operate your workloads wherever and however you choose with the AWS Global
Infrastructure, and you'll use the same network, control plane, APIs, and AWS
services.
A physical
location with several Availability Zones is called an AWS Region. Availability
Zones and AWS Regions form the foundation of the AWS Cloud infrastructure.
Examples of global infrastructure components
for Amazon Web Services (AWS) include the following:
Regions
Groups of independent AWS
resources located in a particular region
Availability
Zones (AZs)
Separate sites with one or
more data centres inside AWS Regions
Edge
locations
Data centres are found in
the majority of the world's major cities.
Local
zones
Get databases, storage, processing
power, and other AWS resources closer to end users.
Some examples
of global AWS services include:
- AWS IAM
- AWS Organizations
- Amazon CloudFront
- AWS Firewall Manager
- AWS Global Accelerator
- AWS Direct Connect
- Route 53
